1. Semalam my wife balik agak lambat selepas Maghrib. I decided to eat out with my kids. My wife was to join us there. Kids nak makan di Treats. On our way, we saw this new outlet di KK, Pizza vs Satay. I suggested we try out this outlest since my youngest daughter has been mentioning about it many times. To my suprise, she insisted to dine di Treats. So kami pergi dah ke Treats. Treats was closed for the evening. My eldest daughter cepat-cepat kata "Alhamdullilah!" and we turned back to PvsS.
2. The lady owner bertudung came to our table. She spoke (English) in a very different accent. Terasa macam pernah dengar this accent many years ago. Memancing perbualan, I asked her "Are you from Sabah?". She said "No. I am local. But I speak Mandarin at home." By then my wife has joined us.
I told her "You look familiar macam my former student." She responded "Are you a lecturer?"
"Yeah."
"I did attend a local university...."
Belum sempat habis, saya tanya "UPM?"
"Yes!"
"Fisheries?"
"Yes!"
"You must be Resh...?"
"Reshmah. How do you know?"
"I was one of your lecturers...."
"Alamak macam mana you can recognise me and I dah lupa my own lecturer? Siapa ni?"
I told her my name. Apparently dia dah lupa as our Faculty has been closed. Told her that we have just started a new department (Fisheries related). She started to recall...
Wonder juga macam mana dia boleh lupa my name. That is my soalan bonus wajib in every final! But I am still proud that she has done well in her business!
3. This is her second "Pizza vs Satay" outlet. Yang pertama di USJ.
4. Teringat pula peristiwa last month, I attended a dinner with Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as the honorable guest. Tiba-tiba a young man tersenyum joined me at my table. He asked me "Kenal lagi saya?" I said "Yes! Rahman Shaik" Boy, he was proud that I remember his name and I was reciprocally proud that a. he still remembers me b. kindly enough to sit beside me during the function and c. he is an "orang kuat menteri".
Semasa kolej dulu adalah orang kuat PMI dan MPP yang kerap bertekak dengan TNC HEP. Rakan sepasukannya dulu adalah MP dan ADUN PKR-PAS sekarang.
