Nik Aziz declines comment on Friday sermon issue
KOTA BAHARU: PAS Spiritual Leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat declined to comment on the issue of the alleged use of Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng's name in the prayer during the Friday sermon in several mosques in Penang.
He said it was a personal issue and did not wish to comment on such matter.
He said that when approached by reporters at his house in Kampung Pulau Melaka here Saturday.
Nik Aziz said he did not know much about the issue and it was not a political issue, and as such did not want to comment.
The Penang Umno Liaison Committee had alleged that Lim's name was switched with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong's in the prayer during the Friday sermon at several mosques in the Tasik Gelugor, Permatang Pauh and Jelutong areas, but the Penang government had denied the allegation.
