1. Baru-baru ini kecoh cerita MB Selangor berkorban 46 lembu guna bukan wang sendiri. Saya rasa ini bukanlah kes-kes terpencil. Dr Khir pun siap sentuh dalam blognya.
2. Put aside duit siapa, saya pelik dengan budaya berkorban berpuluh ekor lembu di kalangan pemimpin dan ahli politik. Kasi masuk paper lagi hantar beberapa lori. Mungkin Dr Khir yang bising pun pernah buat kerja ini. Sedang Mas Herman Tino pernah berpesan "tangan kanan memberi, sorokkan tangan kiri.... berilah dalam sepi". But siapalah dia wak Herman tu?
3. Bukankah qurban itu suatu ibadah? Apakah perbuatan qurban berpuluh ekor ternakan per orang ini pernah dibuat Rasullullah (s.a.w.) sebagai "pemimpin" atau disarankan Rasullullah? Hadith berikut jelas menerangkan
Muslim 022:4845:
'A'isha reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) commanded that a ram with black legs, black belly and black (circles) round the eyes should be brought to him, so that he should sacrifice it. He said to 'A'isha: Give me the large knife, and then said: Sharpen it on a stone. She did that. He then took it (the knife) and then the ram; he placed it on the ground and then sacrificed it, saying: Bismillah, Allah-humma Taqabbal min Muhammadin wa Al-i-Muhammadin, wa min Ummati Muhammadin (In the name of Allah," O Allah, accept [this sacrifice] on behalf of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad and the Umma of Muhammad" ).
Malik's Muwatta 23:23.5.11:
Yahya related to me from Malik that Ibn Shihab said, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, only sacrificed one camel or one cow for himself and his family."
Malik said, "I do not know which of them Ibn Shihab said."
Bukhari 9:89:317:
Narrated 'Abdullah bin Hisham:
who was born during the lifetime of the Prophet that his mother, Zainab bint Humaid had taken him to Allah's Apostle and said, "O Allah's Apostle! Take his Pledge of allegiance (for Islam)." The Prophet said, "He ('Abdullah bin Hisham) is a little child," and passed his hand over his head and invoked Allah for him. 'Abdullah bin Hisham used to slaughter one sheep as a sacrifice on behalf of all of his family.
Ibrahim (a.s) pun setahu saya sembelih seekor sahaja. Wonder berapa banyak Dr Khir qurban sewaktu mengerjakan haji dua tahun lalu?
Mungkin lebih afdal kalau diqurban ikut bahagian sendiri dan keluarga (1 bahagian seorang), dan yang lebihnya diberikan kepada penduduk fakir untuk memulakan ternakan lembu atau kambing berkelompok......
4. Rupanya tabiat berqurban banyak-banyak ini bukan suatu yang baru... Pemimpin-pemimpin mungkin berkata bukan untuk beriyak!
Malik's Muwatta 2:23.5.10:
Yahya related to me from Malik from Umara ibn Yasar that Ata ibn Yasar told him that Abu Ayyub al-Ansari had told him, "We used to sacrifice one sheep, and a man sacrificed for himself and his family. Then later on people began to compete with each other and it became boasting."
Malik said, "The best that I have heard about a single camel, cow or sheep, is that a man should sacrifice a camel for himself and his family. He sacrifices a cow or sheep which he owns for his family, and shares with them in it. It is disapproved for a group of people to buy a camel, cow or sheep, to share for the ritual and sacrifices, each man giving a share of its price, and taking a share of its meat. We have heard the tradition that people do not share in the ritual. However, it may be that the people of one household can share."
