PAS counters onslaught

KUALA LUMPUR: Barely 24 hours after the Barisan Nasional held a gathering here to get the Kelantanese to vote for the coalition, PAS organised another gathering at a leading hotel in the city and claimed that only PAS can guarantee heaven for the people.
The party's mursyidul am or spiritual leader Datuk Seri Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat also criticised the Barisan Nasional's development concept for the country, adding that carrying out development projects alone without adhering to Islamic tenets was wrong.
“Only PAS can guarantee heaven for the people,” he said in his speech during a gathering for the Kelantanese at Nikko Hotel last night.
Nik Aziz said the PAS-led government in the state was the only state government in the country which administered Kelantan according to Islamic values.
“Educated Muslims in the state government are helping to administer and develop Kelantan. What new things can the Barisan give us?” he added.
“Any government can carry out development programmes. But the question is whether everyone – the administration and the people – is prepared to work for development while having taqwa (consciousness of God's existence) in their minds.
“Can an Umno government bring the people further into helping them to ensure that they will be accepted by God later in the afterlife?”
Nik Aziz also claimed that the Barisan government was worried that other state governments, especially in the east coast states, would try to copy the Kelantan Islamic-styled administration.
That is was why Umno was scrambling to implement massive development programmes in the east coast, he added.
Nik Aziz said PAS would accept development projects and allocation from the Federal Government, but PAS was still able to run the state without resorting to corrupt practices or misdeeds.
The Mentri Besar also called on the Kelantanese voters to return and vote for PAS.
“If you have to accept a ride from an Umno-chartered bus back to Kelantan, by all means go ahead but vote for PAS,” he said.
About 3,000 people attended the three-hour gathering at the hotel.

Wah jika seseorang itu cukup 40 waktunya tanpa ronggak, maka bebaslah dia dari neraka. Bagaimana jika dia yang kuat solat dan amalnya memangkah UMNO?
